Trinity 300

Trinity 300

The Vision of Trinity300 is to identify, organize and successfully accomplish a series of events and offerings—in the year 2026—in celebration of the 300th anniversary of the building of historic Trinity Church, Newport. Continuing its role as a welcoming beacon for our city and beyond, these will include lectures, exhibits, ceremonies, presentations, musical and artistic performances, social gatherings, parties and worship services.

Over the next 2 years, we see Trinity300 offering an underlying foundation of excitement, energy, enthusiasm and edification—upon which we can celebrate the church of our ancestors while, more importantly, continuing to build the church of the future—with renewed faith—discerning and contemplating an ever-adapting Christian mission and purpose for the generations to come. Making manifest, ALL THIS, during the physical construction of a long-awaited  education and administration center on our campus; the sincere, hopeful and self-reflective process as we “call” a new rector to Trinity and the joyful, generational celebration of the semiquincentenary (250th) of the nation. The people of Trinity will be central in all of it and the opportunities afforded are endless.

If you would like to participate in our planning or support Trinity300 in any way, please contact Jeff Clark or Bob Smith at jeffreyclark1@mac.com or rpsmith373@yahoo.com or the Trinity Church offices at 401.846.0660.
